Just finished loading my music on a used 1G model and a used Mb model without the iRiver software that's iriveg bit obsolete. Other OS can't format the player properly. I am searching for a software that will enable what the driver used to do.

Need driver and iRiver music manager for downloading music. This item may be a floor model or store return ifp-979 has been used. Sorry this didn't help. So as a beginner user it's great.
It has awesome sound compared to a CD irived - the sound is stronger and the volume doesn't have to be half as loud.
All I can say is that it has me sold as to how awesome it is.
